summer of '08

after the hellish oral exam, who would have thought that we can still give out our best smiles? (or we're just damn good in hiding our scared expressions)

we were wave 6.3 Time Warner Cable account in Convergys. 

and we totally redefined the word "cool". nah, make it uber coolness.

• may-may - with that sweet angelic voice on the phone as Erin, who would have thought that she's one in-your-face tough chic?

• kalai - the coolest girl on the wave eva. she reaaaally knows the best way to par-tay!

• ruby ann - the perfect epitome of the strong independent woman. and yet, cute and bubbly at the same time.

• malyn - fashion + technical + humor = awesoooome. but don't be mislead, she sure is very outgoing (without the need to drink beer).

• van - sexy, sultry, seductive... heck, she can crack jokes without even trying. she's the LIFE of the crowd. literally.

• fermin - who shocked us with his "what makes you different" answer. definitely one of the best people to hang out with.

• verge - model, hottie, photographer, graphic designer... very easy-going and intriguing at the same time.

• jon bartz - be warned when you go with bartz during a drinking session, just make sure you'd survive! when mixed with ryan and sherwin, they'd make the best katagay crew ever.

• ryan - my mafia wars kumpadre and my technical training seatmate. being seated in between ryan and malyn kept me from having nosebleeds every single day with the lectures.

• ygie - one talented maniniyot. if you'd ask him to list down the places he's been to, i bet one page isn't enough. (am i right or am i right?)

• boyee - the recording artist. just the sound of his real name makes you think, is he really just a nice guy?

• jared - fresh-faced jock. the boy-next-door type. girls seem can't help but ask for his name. (haha)

• joe - this good-natured guy has the best radio-esque voice that could totally attract anyone. and i mean anyone.

• sherwin - the master. and we could never forget his Achmed the Terrorist impersonation.

• ezra - the singer. there was never a day that we didn't ask (or even pester) him to sing for us. who wouldn't? ezra is entertainment.

• sheldon - the guy with the wittiest remarks and the very first person who taught malyn how to "tagay"

• jacques - the smart charming guy. don't be fooled, he's not that innocent!

• RD - he is always the one that keeps the bunch together especially during desperate times. "one summer, one kapamilya" something like that

• mogs - surf dude. he is what the girls call, "boyfriend material". (ayay)

and i sure can't wait for the day we all get to be in the same dark noisy place drinking (and eating) our hearts out.

Not Another Vampire Film

after so many days of just reading blogs, cracked, oddee, wiki, and cracked (and more cracked), i finally found some time to get to novel reading once again (the last was Palahniuk's Lullaby). Instead of actual flipping through the pages of a softbound novel, i just have to open my books folder and hover around some great ebooks that I haven't found the time to read. From Blavatsky's Studies in Occultism, Gaiman's The Sandman, Murakami's After Dark, Rushdie's The Satanic Verses, and even Maddox's The Alphabet of Manliness, I keep reminding myself to at least spend some time with these lovelies than just drowning myself with free Iphone apps (like babel rising or angry birds for example). But all that changed when I finally saw the official trailer for Let Me In.

Two months ago, a friend asked me if I have seen the creepy Swedish film, Låt den rätte komma in (Let the Right One In) coz the tough little girl from KickAss is going to be the lead actress. So I wiki'd it and I honestly was drawn to its plot. spoiler!

Though I know I had enough of teenage vampires and teenage girls and teenage werewolves that literally killed the essence of horror, I managed to find its ebook without using a torrent (my frienemy). and that was a special day.

I'm still on the first few pages of the book and I already found myself engrossed with Lindqvist's writing. I surely hope I can finish reading it before highschool emo wannabes fill the theaters.

mi casa, su casa

after dire bloggin' experiences with vox, the old friendster, tumblr, and multiply, i finally found a new home. and i sure do hope i won't have to move once more.

-- i can finally write whatever comes into mind and say as many WTFs as I want to (haha. but I'm not kiddin though)

-- i don't have to be wary of article keywords and all that stuff that can make money in the internet (believe me, i'm soo full of it already that i even tend to make sure my dreams fit the niche of that day)

-- i can put down more than 140 characters! weeee! (haha)

-- i miss my multiply bloggin' days: it was fun, crazy, pathetic... all at the same time. it's just too bad that i got so busy (err-wasting away) in 2009 that i haven't updated it. now, i just don't think i can stand the new multiply, it's so infested with stuff on sale that most of my pageviews these days were either from people selling undergarments and people on the hunt for teenage vampire novels. talk about insane.

-- my friendster blogs (way way back) were all about jobless crap. i was so depressed that i literally killed the word "emo". (insert snort here)

-- with vox, well, i don't know. it contains 3 goddamn posts that don't make sense.

-- now my tumblr is worst. it was waaaay lame that you'd wish you'd rather watch twilight parodies while kicking yourself 'til you hallucinate of sparkly vampires. all it contain was tons and tons of  viral funny pictures and lastfm feeds. now i think everyone have tumblr accounts and it would be a downfall to hell if anyone saw what my tumblr account looks like.

so i welcome myself to a wonderful 1st day of my new home. cheers. (i sound cheesy i know).
